    Story

Children with disabilities see the world differently to most of us. They may be over sensitive to certain stimuli and under sensitive to others. The great outdoors can be dangerous, frightening or just not very interesting! I want to create a garden they can access easily and interact with plants, soil, water, wildlife and outdoor materials, promoting learning, physical fitness and self confidence. Nidd House provides respite care for kids across the district, making it the perfect location.

      Update from the Page owner

Thank you so much for your kind donation to the George's Garden project. We raised 30% of funds needed via crowdfunding which exceeded expectations! I have been pursuing other methods of fundraising at the same time so the amount still needed is now down to approx £1300. I'm confident we will be able to raise this amount one way or another over the next 4 months and the project will go ahead. George and Ralph have been busy planting bulbs in readiness! For those of you who won't get to see the garden in the flesh, pictures should be on my website by next summer so do take a peak www.yorkshiregardendesigns.co.uk If you have any queries feel free to email info@yorkshiregardendesigns.co.uk Thanks again for your interest and support. Many thanks for all the pledges, so far we have reached £500. Still 2 weeks to go so if you get a chance to spread the word to family and friends and get a few more pledges that would be fantastic! Lorna xx
