    Story

I will be running the toughest foot race on the planet in 2017 which is called the Marathon Des Salbes. This is a 6 day ultra marathon through the Sahara Desert that will cover 251 km or 156 miles on the year I turn 40. I will also be running on behalf of a super charity called Families for HoPE to raise awareness in the work they do and money to support them in their work. This is centred around children who are diagnosed with Holoprosencephaly which is a congenital brain disorder.

I was matched with a young girl with this disorder on an awesome Facebook group called I run for Michael. Only 3% of children who are diagnosed with this as a foetus make delivery and the vast majority of these do not make it past 6 months. Hanna is still going strong since her birth in February 2013 and she is one of the most awesome amazing people I have ever had the pleasure to come across. Her attitude is an inspiration and if this helps her and others like her it is worth the efforts.

I will be keeping a blog throughout my journey onto the Sahara ready for my race in April 2017, I will also be uploading information about families for HoPE if you would like further details.

I am aiming to raise such a vast amount as it can do a lot of good for this amazing charity and the fantastic work they do. I will be using part of the donation to fund the race itself, which is around £3500 so any corporate sponsors that can help this would be amazing and the rest will go to families for HoPE, which hopefully will be around £6500 to £7000.
