Weʼve raised £1,360 to help St Peter's make ends meet - by cycling the 'End to End'!

Funded on Thursday, 23rd June 2016

    Story

In my cycling pilgrimage between Land's End and John O'Groats I hope to cover 1,200 miles in 20 days and to visit 10 cathedrals along the way.

Meanwhile, at St Peter's our forecast deficit for this year is alarmingly high. So if you would be willing to sponsor me in this attempt at the 'End to End' then together we could help St Peter's 'make ends meet...'

As we reach the end of the road of this particular fundraising venture I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who so generously donated. I am amazed at the amount we raised to help St Peter's make ends meet! More importantly, I will always be grateful for your support as I fulfilled a life-long ambition and completed my 'End to End' cycling pilgrimage. Thank you again.

Well, 1330 miles along the Way, I reached my destination - although it was actually all about the journey! I met so many interesting people en route and saw so many wonderful sights. The whole pilgrimage has been a blessing to me. Thank you for the part YOU played!

In Brora tonight, 1269 miles from Land's End with 65 miles still to enjoy on my last day tomorrow... It's about 10 degrees cooler on the east coast than it was on the west, but there's still no sign of rain - and thankfully the bike and I continue to be completely problem-free!

I am the vicar at St Peter's church in Hersham, Surrey - and also a keen cyclist. Being in the privileged position of taking a sabbatical this year I have the opportunity to attempt to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. It will be for me a kind of pilgrimage...
