Weʼve raised £390 to buy t-shirts & trainers for 30 homeless in Rome

Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome, Italy
Funded on Friday, 18th September 2015

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

My daughter Alice and I provide home-cooked meals to 180 street people outside Rome's Tiburtina station, whenever we are in the city. Many of the Italian have shoes with holes, they don't have money to buy clothes, they depend on hand-outs. We would like to make them feel cared for by buying each man a new t-shirt and a pair of trainers, just £10 / man, from Sports Direct.

The cost per man is working out at around £14, for trainers, a T-shirt and a pair of socks, so with £340 pledged so far, we're now able to buy enough for around 24 men. Alice is working in Rome and we're aiming to send items to Rome to distribute on 1st September. THANK-YOU

Thank-you for all your donations! We still need more to be able to give all of the regular guys trainers and T-shirts, but our little dream has turned into a reality in just a couple of days. I have just returned from the UK with the fist 9 t-shirts and 2 pairs of trainers.

Wow, a huge thank you to everyone so far. We can now go shopping in Sports Direct for trainers and t-shirts. And we will keep fundraising because every extra ten pounds is one more man who will know we cared enough to buy for him.
