We hope to raise enough funds to make a sensory garden for our residents living with dementia. Gardening plays a crucial part in maintaining a persons wellbeing and happiness. It is important to spend time outdoors doing the things we love. Gardening provides a sense of purpose and inclusion for people with dementia and It will help bring our residents together. It will also provide a safe environment for our residents to spend quality leisure time with staff,friends and family. We are hoping to raise enough money to provide raised flower beds so that planting is accessible for all residents even those with restricted mobility. We would also like to provide some sensory equipment such as a water feature and lighting using solar powered blossom trees and garden lights. Also we would like to grow our own fruit and vegetables so a small greenhouse would be ideal. Lastly we would need to supply some suitable furniture to add to our lovely residents comfort.
