    Story

Our beautiful daughter Lucy passed away 9 years ago aged 14 just 5 months after being diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. Trying to cope with our grief we soon discovered there was very little help available and nothing in the local area.
In 2009 we joined with two Paediatric Community Sisters Ursula and Nancy and another set of bereaved parents Ian and Claire who lost their son Daniel in 2009 suddenly to septicaemia aged 23 months. We established Milton Keynes Bereaved Parents Group because we wanted to offer support as well as sharing the vision and drive to establish a friendly welcoming group to help others.
The number of people visiting our group is increasing, however, we are acutely aware there are others in our area still needing support.
Craig, Simon and Anthony all teach at Denbigh School where I work and where Lucy was a pupil, we are so grateful to these amazing guys who are putting their energy into raising funds to help us continue to offer support to bereaved parents.
    Our Meetings
Meetings are held every third Thursday of the month from 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Age UK, The Peartree Centre, 1 Chads Lane, Peartree Bridge, Milton Keynes MK6 3EB.

Our triathletes did us proud on Saturday with the sun in the sky and a light (they may disagree with that description!) wind they swam, cycled and ran their way around Dorney lake, finishing with respectable times and raising an amazing £620 for Milton Keynes Bereaved Parent Group. A huge thank you to everyone that supported them.

The bereaved parents group will always hold a special place in my heart as the first 'social' group I attended following Harry's death in 2009.Attending each month and talking to others helped so much
