Story
Several of the pumps that have been installed by the local authorities are broken and have been dysfunctional for almost two years. We want to fix the hand pumps in the village and drill a new one so that the 25 families of the village have better access to clean drinking water. Especially for women it is a difficult situation as they have to carry water for quite some distance to their homes. With better access to clean water, hygiene can be greatly improved.

8 years agoHappy New Year & thank you very much to you all who contributed so generously. We achieved 107 percent of the target! The money has already been transferred to Bodhgaya and the pump has been installed while others are being repaired. My colleague Silvia visited the village and published a blog story with amazing photos available here: http://ziyuusan.blogspot.it/2015/12/bringing-water-to-indian-untouchables.html We are now planning to scale up the effort and reach more villages in 2016. We will keep you updated. All the best for the new year! Patrick

I saw how the living conditions in that village are anachronistically desperate. This is a small step that goes a long way in helping villagers' life. Thanks for initiating it!
