Weʼve raised £1,210 to rebuild the first bay. All the old iron-work will have to come out and be replaced. We will do this ourselves.

    Story

We are a group of ordinary people living on the Isle of Man who have decided that, after 25 years of waiting to have our pier repaired, we will restore the Queen's Pier in Ramsey Bay ourselves. We will repair this wonderful Victorian structure so that it may be used once again by the people of this Island and others who visit the Isle of Man. We will use the skills of the suitably trained engineers on the Island and raise all of the money through donations and subscriptions. Thank you for your support and wanting to give some money to this very worthwhile project.

We now have a license to be able to go back on the pier. We are waiting for the insurance to be put in place and then we will carry out a visual survey of the structure as soon as we have this. We are fund raising now to be able to pay for the steelwork.

We will very shortly be able to sign for a license and have access to the pier. Then we will carry out a visual survey of the structure and take measurements of wasted areas to form an opinion on what parts of the pier can be kept and which parts will need to be replaced.

A great cause. I've not stepped foot on the pier for 25 years. I don't live on the IOM but will come across to help if you'll let me.
