Story
Locomotive L11 & Epping Signal Cabin.
The Project end is to create a Museum of LT Signalling and the display of railway artefacts, L11 will be a static exhibit and will be powered for lighting and working compressors.
We have reached a point in the Signal Cabin with the replacement Lever Frame being installed, a remarkable milestone considering that not two years ago the building was in a sorry state of disrepair.
Epping Signal cabin is the only one such project actively preserving and restoring an LT Signal cabin, it's unique.
With our small team of regular volunteers, the Cabin has been transformed back to 1949 when it first opened, this work has been financed by the dedicated team.
We now need to look at purchasing computer equipment and ancillary equipment, this will be configured to operate the Lever Frame and generate 'trains' on the Illuminated Diagram.
To get the Lever Frame looking in tip top condition, all the panels will require a professional repaint.
Much more is happening than I can write here, you're welcome to come and visit while work is in progress details on www.L11.org.uk
Our aim is to offer private and educational visits and to hold Public Open days.
Please support us.
Thank you.
