DJCAD Textile Design are running the Edinburgh half Marathon on May 29th. Part of team textile design, Jane Keith, Frances Stevenson, and I have been training for the half and Louise Valentine is running the full marathon.... It's a long story. Frances is running to support her daughter Jude on a World Challenge expedition and Louise is running to raise money for Alzhiemer Scotland.

Jane and I are running to give our textile design graduates an extra boost to launch their careers as new designers at New Designers, London. They do an amazing job raising the funds for themselves and have already had a successful Kickstarter campaign and initiated many other enterprising events. Even with all their hard work fundraising and finalising their final degree show work there is always the need for extra support.

This half marathon madness started for me as a personal challenge to get over a bump in the road of life! A friend encouraged me to run and sign up for the half marathon. As a team we found ourselves running! I found myself running the streets of Dundee, not thinking, but falling in love with the City. We have a two week count down from this weekend. Team textiles are running 12 miles this weekend... :)

We'd really like to use this positive energy to help our future graduates. We know this is a lot to ask but even £1 would help. We'll keep you in the loop with how the support helps Textile Design @DJCAD.
