The Crown Theatre is a Grade ll listed Building in Danger of being lost from the gateway into the diverse Town of Eccles. Building began in 1898, the Lyceum was open on the 27th of February 1899. A varied history its been a part of the Community for over 118 years the latter looking rather dilapidated & rather unloved. Except by the Pigeons and Bats who reside.

Over 18 month ago (Oct14) we formed 'help Save the Crown Theatre Eccles' on the back of Major Concerns for the building, plans that would majorly affect the local community, the Towns History & Heritage for future generations. We are Proud of Eccles, & many people who have lived here and moved away are still very proud to say they have come from Eccles. So these are the custodians of the Arts, Culture & History, for the future for our Children, our Grandchildren & future generations.

'Save the Crown Theatre Eccles', kept the front of the building tidy of weeds & rubbish, out of the pockets of the volunteers & donations of goods from a couple of local businesses put a mural in front of the foyer of the Crown. (June15) A Bright and Vibrant Silhouette of life as it could be in the building, The launch of lifting the Crown's Image, welcomed by the Community, Beeped by passers by, waved & Smiles from the hundreds of commuters on that buses that on day may be that very Crowd Scene inside.

We are now Challenged with the next part of our Journey. Its the Fundraising, Application Forms, months & years of hard work that this project will take. Its interesting, exciting, challenging, and the goal is rewarding for the wider community. Greater than one person, it is the vision of a Town.

This Grade ll Victorian Building will bring Life back to Eccles, Salford, Grt, Manchester.
