Story
Scottish Indian Arts Forum (SIAF) is a registered Scottish Charity (SC033214) based in Edinburgh, Scotland. SIAF is committed to promote Indian and Scottish arts, culture and heritage in Scotland through music, dance, drama and celebration of popular festivals of India.
SIAF has been promoting INDIA and Indian culture not only for the benefit of the Indian community but local Scottish community at large as well. SIAF closely works with local Scottish community in promoting Scottish talent in music and dance.
Dusherra is our flagship event which features as one of the key Indian events in Edinburgh festival calendar. It attracts more than 4000 audience each year with positive coverage by media and patronage from the City Council and Scottish government.
Music & Dance, Ram-Leela theatre, Effigy burning & fireworks are the key for the event. We have kept this event as open and free for all. To keep this going, SAIF requires support in terms of grants and sponsorship. We have been supported by Edinburgh City Council, Scottish Government and some of the prominent corporates throughout our long and exciting journey.
With funding environment becoming challenging, all organisations have to adapt and adopt innovative ideas. We are planning to broaden our horizons and scale up our events. Live streaming, more variety in performances, better food choices, etc., are some of the ideas we are aspiring for.
We are looking for support from the wider community and are targeting to raise £10,000 to stage a bigger and better Dusherra in 2016. Please come forward and …Join us in our endeavour!!!
