As many of you know, Kirsty, Chynah, Rebecca and I have been living in the Dom Rep for 9 months now. We have had some absolutely amazing experiences and met some truly incredible people.
One family that have supported us from the word go has been the Cuevas family. From teaching us how to make Dominican spaghetti or taking us on trips down the river, they have always treated us like we are members of the family. The Cuevas' play a huge role within the community. Not only are they in charge of the church, but they also run a nutrition centre and a sponsorship program for the most needy children in the village. They are some of the most humble and giving people we have ever met.

We recently discovered that Viannelis, aged 7(the Cuevas' second youngest daughter), has a Vein Gallen Malformation. If that wasn't enough, she also has a heart murmur, anaemia and sinusitis. This diagnosis led to her immediate hospitalisation in Santo Domingo (the capital city) which is 3 hours away. As we're sure you can imagine, being stuck in a hospital 3 hours away from friends and family can be a very scary experience not only for Viannelis but for her family back home. 

We want to do everything we can to help support the Cuevas family just like they have supported us. Viannelis' medical bills are slowly building up as we wait to see if she can have the operation she desperately needs and so we are reaching out to our own friends and family to ask if you would be so kind to donate any amount (big or small) in order to help Viannelis get the care she deserves. The Cuevas family hold such a special place in our hearts and we are so desperate to help in any way we can. 
Your donations will go towards all of Viannelis' medical bills and, hopefully, upcoming operation as well as the travel costs so she can she her family again.
