For those of you that are not already aware, I am travelling to Ghana this summer to visit a school that provides free education, food and medical care to children that would otherwise be on the streets in an extremely over populated country. One of my many aims is to provide each child with a pencil case full of equipment. My own students have already been fantastically generous! I am funding my visit myself. I have never travelled alone or so far! I am scared of flying and of spiders! But I want to make a difference. I want our children, pupils & colleagues to take note of just how lucky we all are when faced with gripes about 'lack of resources'. So please, if you can fill a pencil case or spare just £1 for me to buy a pre filled one from our local library, I will be immensely grateful!
