This year I am cycling 570 miles along the west coast of Ireland to raise funds for the Rocky Appeal (Da Vinci Robot at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth) and the BodyFocus Support Group (South East Hampshire area).

The Da Vinci Robot uses precise surgical techniques to remove a variety of cancers including prostate, gynaecological, colorectal, kidney, bladder without major open surgery allowing a quicker recovery and faster return to normal life. This technique was recently used to remove my husband’s cancer. So far £1m has been raised. They need to raise a further £1.4m to keep the Robot at QA.

The BodyFocus Support Group raises funds to support the provision of specialised classes eg: Stroke and Cardiac Rehab. We need to replace our defibrillator and also need funds to start more post Stroke Maintenance Exercise Classes.

I am aiming to beat my previous record of £2033 - please support me in my effort to raise funds for these worthy causes.

60% of funds raised will go to the Rocky Appeal for the Da Vinci Robot and 40% to the BodyFocus Support Group to replace the defibrillator and initiate more local Rehabilitation Exercise Classes.
