Story
Ian, Ben and Heather are planning to run the Edinburgh Marathon in order to raise money to support the work of their friends Sam, Hannah and Obet with Tehila Trust.
In 2012, Sam and Hannah (and their daughters Isla and Amba) moved from Bracknell to Lusaka in Zambia to launch Tehila Trust in order to improve child protection in Zambia. We got to know Obet when he came over from Zambia to work with Ben at our church, before Obet returned to Zambia to join the Tehila Team.
Child cruelty happens all over the world and Zambia is no different. It is often not recognised, reported or resolved so children are denied protection and justice. Abusers are free to abuse again and the horrific cycle continues.
Tehila equips, strengthens and builds the capacity of individuals, communities and organisations to create safer environments for children in Zambia, promoting the protection of children and the prevention of child cruelty.
Since going to Zambia 4 years ago, the Tehila Team have had a really challenging but hugely fruitful time, achieving lots, developing and delivering training courses all over Zambia and working with many different agencies.
We're privileged to be able to support them in the work they do through fundraising for them with our running shoes!
