Story

Our dear friend Vlada has passed away and we, his family and friends in the UK, are desperately conscious of his Serbian family's need to be with him now. Vlada was always intending to go home, and had talked about living out his days there. His family are Orthodox Christian, and it is important to their faith that he is given a traditional funeral and burial. Vlada's family need the opportunity to say goodbye to him and feel close to him, as they feel so far away at this incredibly sad time.

And...his family in Belgrade were touched, reassured and moved by the strength of love and support streaming its way from the UK to them in Belgrade - so this thank you is from them too...

And just to reassure people we didn't just blow all the money in fancy hotels and gypsy bars in Belgrade...the repat, funeral and Belgrade costs were higher than we initially expected (and there's still more to cover, e.g. Bristol memorial costs).

Thank you again to everyone who donated for Vlada. The funds have just arrived today, and the final figure is less than we were expecting (even taking into account 5% fees etc). If anyone pledged money but it hasn't come out of your account, you can donate directly if you wish!
