Story
For many disabled people in Ghana there is almost no access to medical equipment, education, transport, healthcare or work and as a result most live in abject poverty. The stigma attached to the disabled and their families has shocking consequences, including confinement, torture, sacrifice & murder. I am raising money to send equipment (wheelchairs, prosthetics etc.) to Ghana as well as to provide support to organisations (OTC, The S.P.C, Voice Ghana etc) who get almost no government support.

9 years agoHi everyone! I can't begin to know how to thank you all! I am over the moon that because of your help, I can now move on to set up my charitable trust and help all those people out there who are changing the lives of adults and children with disabilities. As I said, I will start now - using the money to help The OTC & Mr. Barima. If you would like to stay in touch and see how your money will be spent, please like my facebook page for updates (https://www.facebook.com/SophMorg) on what happens next. Thank you all SO SO much. Sophie xx

I have been reporting the news on disability related issues since I was paralysed in a car crash aged 18. Most recently I presented a documentary for the BBC called 'The World's worst place to be disabled?' (9pm 28th July, BBC Three) which was filmed in Ghana.
