    Story

For many disabled people in Ghana there is almost no access to medical equipment, education, transport, healthcare or work and as a result most live in abject poverty. The stigma attached to the disabled and their families has shocking consequences, including confinement, torture, sacrifice & murder. I am raising money to send equipment (wheelchairs, prosthetics etc.) to Ghana as well as to provide support to organisations (OTC, The S.P.C, Voice Ghana etc) who get almost no government support.

      Update from the Page owner

Hi everyone! I can't begin to know how to thank you all! I am over the moon that because of your help, I can now move on to set up my charitable trust and help all those people out there who are changing the lives of adults and children with disabilities. As I said, I will start now - using the money to help The OTC & Mr. Barima. If you would like to stay in touch and see how your money will be spent, please like my facebook page for updates (https://www.facebook.com/SophMorg) on what happens next. Thank you all SO SO much. I have been reporting the news on disability related issues since I was paralysed in a car crash aged 18. Most recently I presented a documentary for the BBC called 'The World's worst place to be disabled?' (9pm 28th July, BBC Three) which was filmed in Ghana.
